How to Shop

Shopping at is easy. There are three simple steps to finding the item you are looking for:

  • Browse the Home page, which displays the categories available and links to special offers. Click a category to see the selection of items available within that category. Click the item and you will see a detailed explanation of the item’s features.
    Or, search for specific items by entering a brand name, an item description, or keywords in the “Search” field displayed on top of every merchandise page. You will be given a list of items that best match your search criteria.
  • When you find something you want to purchase, click “Add to cart.” The number of items in your cart will be displayed in the top right corner of the page. You can view or change the contents of your cart at any time by clicking “Cart.”
  • When you’re finished shopping, click on “Cart” to view the contents.
  • Click on Proceed To Checkout. You will be forwarded to our login page where you can Sign In or Create a New Account.


If you have not registered on before, you will need to create a new account.

Enter your e-mail address, password and, if you are a member, the membership # found on your membership card. If you have a Costco co-branded card, your membership number is located on the back of your card to the right of your picture and will say
“Costco Membership Number.”

Then click the “Register” button to create an account.

Note: Maintaining an active Costco membership does not automatically register you on You will need to complete a New Registration if you have not previously registered on

Your membership number is not linked to your account until you add it at the time of registration or by updating your information in the My Account section.

Enter your Billing and Shipping information and click on “Checkout”.

You will then see a page displaying the contents of your shopping cart. On this page, you have the opportunity to Ship to Multiple Addresses or upgrade your ship method to “Express” if that option is available for the item(s) in your cart.

To complete the checkout process:

  • Click on Continue Checkout.
  • Enter your payment information.
  • Click on Continue Checkout.
  • Click the Complete Checkout button to complete your order.

My Account

The “my account” section is where shipping and billing information is stored. Additionally you will be able to make changes to your shipping or billing address, address book, or change your current password. After your account has been created, you
will receive an e-mail confirming that your account has been successfully established.

Shipping Address Book

If the merchandise will be sent to an address other than the billing address, enter the address information in the shipping column of “my account.” This information will be updated automatically and stored in your personal address book for future
purchases. Your address book can store and maintain up to 99 names and addresses.

Shipping Information

Currently, offers shipping in Canada only. We do not currently deliver to P.O. boxes, international addresses, and to a few limited geographic areas within Canada. We may expand service to more areas in the future. Please check our site
regularly for updates, or send us an e-mail and we will notify you of our expansion.

Delivery Methods provides various shipping methods. As you shop, each product page describes the standard shipping method for the item.

Package Delivery

Most merchandise can be delivered by package carriers such as Federal Express, UPS (United Parcel Service) and Canada Post. These companies deliver your merchandise to your door.

Large-item Delivery

Some merchandise is too large or too heavy to ship via package carriers. Contracted freight companies deliver this merchandise. These companies telephone you when your merchandise arrives at their terminal to set up a convenient delivery appointment
time. These companies provide curbside delivery. The carrier is not responsible for bringing the merchandise into your home, uncrating, installing or removing packing materials.

White-glove Delivery

Other merchandise requires special handling or setup. Our “white glove” carriers deliver this merchandise. They will unpack, inspect, and set up your merchandise in the room of your choice. Also they will remove all packaging materials.

Multiple Delivery Addresses

  • If you are sending merchandise to multiple ship-to-addresses, please begin by entering the list of ship-to-addresses into your “Address Book” located in “My Account.” This information will be updated automatically and stored in your personal address
    book for future purchases. Your address book can store and maintain up to 99 names and addresses.
  • Add the item(s) you wish to order to your cart and proceed to checkout.
  • Click on the “Ship to Multiple Addresses” button near the top of the shipping address information page of the check-out process.
  • The items you have in your cart will be listed individually with the ability to choose a ship-to address one line item at a time.
  • You will also have the opportunity to add a customized “Gift Message” to each item with gift message capability at this point in the check-out process.

International Shipping

Passage of Title

Passage of title (or transfer of ownership) on the merchandise you order will occur once you receive the merchandise.

Payment Options

All prices and dollar amounts on this site are in Canadian dollars. accepts the following credit cards: MasterCard (the preferred credit card of and VISA. Some electronic transactions may require extended processing in addition
to credit card authorization. You will be notified by a Costco customer service representative if extended processing is required to complete your transaction request through our web site.

All credit cards must be valid, authentic and you must be authorized to use them. If the charge is not authorized or accepted, we reserve the right to cancel your order without notice or liability. We reserve the right to stop accepting credit cards
from one or more issuers. Your credit card will be charged when the goods are shipped to you.

Costco Cash Card

Versatile and convenient, Costco Cash cards can be used in our warehouses, gas stations and on They are issued in increments ranging from $50.00 to $1,000.00 CAD. With thousands of items to choose from, Cash cards make great gifts for clients,
friends and family.

On-line Credit Coupon

On-line Credit Coupons are subject to the following terms and conditions: Your On-line Credit Coupon can be used only by you and only for purchases from in Canadian dollars. It is not redeemable at any physical Costco warehouse. This On-line
Credit Coupon will apply only to merchandise shipped and billed to a Canadian address. This On-line Credit Coupon may be used only once, at any time of day. On-line Credit Coupons may not be sold and will not be replaced if lost, stolen or destroyed.
Any unused portion is forfeited and is not redeemable for cash. Cash redemption value 1/20 cent. Void where prohibited.

Membership Requirements

Costco is a membership warehouse club, dedicated to bringing our members the lowest possible prices on quality, brand-name merchandise. Costco members not only receive the best possible prices at, but can also shop at any of the Costco Wholesale

Sales Tax

In accordance with applicable provincial and federal laws, we are required to charge GST/HST and provincial sales tax. Costco does not benefit from the collection of sales tax and we remit all taxes collected directly to the appropriate taxing jurisdiction.
As a general rule, the applicable sales tax is determined by the province of delivery. Provincial sales tax will be calculated on taxable merchandise and services. The taxes are applicable to taxable merchandise and services delivered in Canada.
The appropriate sales tax amount will be displayed at the checkout section of the site.

Please note that other charges, such as environmental levies, may apply on certain types of merchandise and services.

Be advised that, because Costco’s shipping and handling charge is a combined charge, this charge is subject to sales tax in many of the provinces where a separately stated shipping charge might normally be nontaxable.

Sales Tax Exemption

Currently, does not offer sales tax exemption at the point of sale.

Our Tax Department will consider your exemption after you have placed your order. Please specify which tax you are seeking an exemption from, and send the required documentary evidence to justify your sales tax exemption.

The evidence required is detailed in the form below for the majority of exemption categories. If you are claiming an exemption for reasons not included below, please provide the reasons for exemption in the OTHER EXEMPTION category. You may be contacted
by a Costco representative for further information.

Please also include a copy of the online e-mail confirmation receipt from your purchase, along with the attached Sales Tax Exemption Claim form. The completed and signed Sales Tax Exemption Claim Form MUST be included with your request. Mail or fax

If you are seeking a Provincial Sales Tax exemption, as you are reselling the merchandise that you have purchased through, please complete a Purchase Exemption Certificate applicable in the ship-to province. If you are seeking a sales tax
exemption because you are purchasing goods on behalf of a government entity, please ensure that the purchases are made with a membership card and a credit card issued in the name of the government entity. For any other sales tax exemption, please
forward any relevant documentation that justifies the sales tax exemption.

Our ability to provide you with a refund of the sales tax that you have paid will be based on applicable GST/HST rules as well as provincial laws applicable in the “ship-to” province. If your purchase does not meet the requirements set out by these
laws, Costco will not be able to refund any sales tax.
